Can I use BEH SEC columns in high-organic conditions? - WKB30717

Article number: 30717

ENVIRONMENT

  • Size exclusion chromatography (SEC)
  • Column capabilities
  • Bridged ethylene hybrid (BEH)
  • XBridge
  • ACQUITY

ANSWER

Yes, the particle itself can handle being run under higher organic conditions. However, Waters cautions in the care and use manual that protein precipitation becomes a critical issue with higher than 20% organic conditions. In addition, with ongoing exposure to greater than 10% organic conditions, the column will have a greater possibility of not returning to original chromatographic conditions.
