ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Considerations for choosing a column chemistry might also include:

  1. Is the sample a water-soluble compound or a very nonpolar compound? In what is the sample soluble?
  2. Is the sample ionizable? What is the pKa if known?
  3. Is the sample metal-sensitive?
  4. Is the sample more stable at high pH, or does it give a higher response in mobile phase run at high pH?
  5. What is the molecular weight of the sample?
