OBJECTIVE or GOAL
Start up a new Atlantis dC18 column from its storage solution; introduce mobile phase to the column without damaging the column or precipitating any buffer in the mobile phase.

PROCEDURE
- The column is shipped in 100% acetonitrile. Attach the column to the HPLC system with the outlet line flushing to a waste container.
- Flush the column for 10 column volumes with 50/50 acetonitrile or methanol/water.
- Connect the column to the detector.
- Flush the column with the mobile phase for 20 column volumes.
