How do I disable Java automatic updates on my NuGenesis web server? - WKB3991

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Disable Java automatic updates on NuGenesis web servers. The WebVision site makes use of Java Servlets and is validated and supported only with Java 1.7 Update 2 x86.

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis 8 SDMS
• Java 1.7 Update 2
• Windows 2008 R2
• Windows 2012

PROCEDURE

1. Open the Control Panel.
2. Click on the Programs category.
3. Click on "Java (32-bit)".
4. In the "Java Control Panel" window, click the Update tab.
5. Clear the check box "Check for Updates Automatically".

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The following two issues are known to be caused by incorrect Java versions on the NuGenesis web server:

• Error "502.3 - Bad Gateway" when loading NuGenesis WebVision
• Error "Could not locate database driver" in NuGenesis Audit Trail Viewer
